You would feel at home in central PA, Penny, where PennDOT has to put up signs saying "STAY IN BOTH LANES UNTIL MERGE POINT" because as soon as we see "RIGHT LANE CLOSED 2MI" we switch to the left lane. No problems at the merge point, except for the occasional driver from MD. Or possibly Philadelphia?
