You lost me. The rules have not changed; electors under the Constitution as it is written and interpreted may vote for almost anyone (within constraints of age, birth location, term limits, etc.) they want to. This is how the Electoral College works (much to the dissatisfaction of many HRC supporters). Those who do not like it should work to change the Electoral College. Whereas the current “president elect” (so called, and incorrectly—no one has actually been elected president until the Electoral College votes) gamed a primary process that is not mentioned anywhere in the Constitution.
