You are a wonderful, lovely lady, Anna. Since I’ve never laid eyes on you, I can only go by your poetry and prose, which always delight me.
You are not the first woman who I’ve heard lament becoming “invisible” to men. I can understand that intellectually, I guess, but I’ve always been invisible to women (sober ones, anyway — another story) so I don’t have an emotional connection. But I know my wife, who is not at all vain about her appearance, perks up when I tell her how beautiful she is (and I never lie, because she truly is). So let me tell you that I see true beauty in you when I read your creations, dear lady!
