Your reactions to being solo for the first time in years reminds me of things my wife has said in a similar situation (she's wife #2 for me; I'm hubs #3 for her). When we met we were both content with, even proud of, being single; that made it easier for each of us to decide that yes, this person is worth taking a chance on.
