The difference between the glaciers near Denali and the glaciers near Juneau are like the differences between the Amazon and the Mississippi — both the same, in some ways, and yet the settings are so different! We could look down from our helicopter ride and see the glaciers below us, and then look over and see the suburbs of Juneau. But when we put down, it was nothing but cold, rocky wilderness! (Wonderful experience!)
