When we bought our house, Sarah, we quickly determined that one or two or five groundhogs (depending on year and season) lived under our back deck. They did not bother us nearly as much as other people report in their groundhog horror stories, and we learned things — like the cute little babies chew EVERYTHING when teething, and the adults get freakin' huge when left alone.

When we replaced our back deck with a porch (going from six months of usage to year-round) the crew doing the demolition showed us the burrows and the main dens, of various ages. Had we been able to charge rent, it would have been a good side business. 😉

Our fox, meanwhile, has not been seen for a couple months. I hope they're doing okay!
