When my current wife and I agreed on getting married, we agreed that part of the attraction to each other was that we had both learned through previous divorces (2 for her, 1 for me) that we could each be our own people who did not need someone else to "fulfill" us.

Having a life partner is great, IMHO... if you find that person who will be a life PARTNER, not someone using you for their own ends.

I have no freakin' idea how to screen for that, btw. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
