When I started on Medium in 2015, nobody got paid. I only joined the Medium Partner Program last year because I thought maybe my stories would get promoted better. (Hmmm. Appears not. Oh well!) In terms of money, I made more this month running the AV tech at a church funeral than I did from writing. If Medium scuttles the Partner Program, I don't see me changing my writing patterns — and how could I give up my Medium peeps?

Ah, now if all the folks I know on Medium disappeared, that would cause me to spend less time and effort here. And I would feel sad.
