What you might mention, Lisa, for the benefit of clueless companions of hot-flashing women, is that hot flashes are NOT at all a psychological thing. (Don't know about cold flashes, Deb didn't have those.) There were SO many times when I would be cuddling, lounging with, or just nearby my wife and she suddenly went incandescent (in the IR spectrum, anyway). I was never much help, alas, other than assisting with getting blankets off her if we were in bed.
