What Mary McGrath said (although just 24 years in my case). But it took years for me to get over the “things will go bad when they seem best” feeling that I got, just because it had happened to every single relationship I had had before. And being the analytical type, I determined that the one constant was me. 😐
But going into retirement, I did another analysis to determine what I wanted to be after I grew up, and I decided I wanted to be the best husband for Deb, because I am happiest when she’s happy. So far it’s been a good ride. 😊💚 (YMMV)
