We *LOVE* MorningStar Farms Crumbles line! (Okay, I love it, and Deb is very tolerant.) Have you tried their Chorizo Crumbles? Already seasoned, so not as versatile, but we still like them. Ditto the Chipotle.

I started cooking with Crumbles because of the ease of use—they heat quickly, they go well with a bunch of other foods in a pan, I can use part of a pack and reseal it—but now I just plain like the flavor and, like you said, “mouth feel.” I still make beef chili occasionally because Deb really gets in the mood for beef every now and again.

Wheat-free diets are not fun, in the Western world. At least I can do homemade whole wheat bread or muffins every so often (with extra gluten to hold it all together). Although a friend of ours brings us fresh-baked bread every so often when they visit… cakes I can ignore, pastries I can pass up, but fresh bread with butter, mmmmmmmmmm… 😋

Old age, changing bodies, diminishing abilities to eat what we used to… no wonder we yell at kids who get on our lawns!
