We have an avocado and a ficus!
Both inside, of course.
The ficus is from a woman I was dating briefly (in between marriages) who was going to throw it out, but let me have it; that was almost thirty years ago, and despite living with almost no direct light (but good indirect light) it's still doing well.
The avocado is about a year and a half old, grown from a pit (why? because why not!) and about a yard tall. It was a bit over two feet in December, with no growth to speak of for several months previously, when it decided to spurt. Might be because it's in our bedroom, which gets direct sun in the winter and only indirect light in summer (the architects knew how to design a roof overhang). It's still growing straight up, which is an improvement from its predecessor, which decided to split and grow almost horizontally in opposite directions (and Deb declared it a failed experiment, so out it went).
