We have a winter storm warning (NWS skipped the watch) starting Saturday morning. We're going to be at 17° by Sunday morning. We're trying (Deb's idea) to put a pot (with a brick, because 45mph gusty winds will be coming) over our hibiscus that's showing color. The snow will probably cover the pot, providing some insulation 🤞and maybe it will survive. The other spring flowers will have to survive on their own.
We've used frost cloths in the past (okay, some of my old shirts soaked in tap water, whatever) with good results, but 17° with a 0°F wind chill will make them useless.
