We had a family picnic over the weekend. Our nieces and nephews (all married and/or graduated from university) were commiserating on how much it just plain sucks to be an adult sometimes. Food (“Nobody told us we’d have to plan meals! Mom never planned meals! Food just appeared by magic when we got home from school!”). Toilet training experiences (child vs. puppy — ”Next dog we get is going to be already housebroken!” “Honey, can we do that for our next kid?”). Kids today getting their first phones in grade school (“Hey, I wasn’t allowed a phone that could text when I was in 4th grade!” “Dude, they didn’t have phones that could text when you were in 4th!” “Still…”).

Older generation much amused, but yep, been there, done that, shocked to find the t-shirt wasn’t free after all.
