We are still in the hole for Deb's first two children's books, Harry, but that is because we hired a professional illustrator (neither of us can draw worth a damn, and the illustrator we picked does delightful whimsical illustrations that matched Deb's mental image of her characters). But making money (or gaining fame or even doing triple-digit sales) was never the point — Deb has the tangible manifestations of her stories.
She has also had fun attending book fairs, and she gave an excellent presentation to kids about writing a basic story, using her book as an example.
