We are lucky if we get one or two robins in a week — until earlier this week, when a mob (8+, hard to count when they kept flying in and out) descended on the normally inedible fruit of our ornamental cherry tree. The cherries have the toughness (and taste) of wooden decorations until they have been through several freeze/thaw cycles, at which point the robins love them. Half the fruit disappeared in an afternoon.
