Two observations:

  • When I was a little kids I helped my farmer grandfather gather eggs from the henhouse. That was when I learned that chicken poop their eggs (I knew it was true because there was poop on the eggs). My sister still doesn’t eat eggs.
  • In the States, we wash the chicken poop and straw and whatever from the eggs before selling them. Thus the eggs need refrigeration or they go bad. Everyone else takes poopy eggs home, washes them before eating, and never needs to chill them. Apparently it’s okay for Yanks to wash fruits and vegetables before preparing, but not eggs. [I think I read this on Quora.]
