Two comments, Agnes:

  • You have a delightful outlook on life! Deb and I have commented that there are people who complain that life never gives them a break, and others who say how lucky they are and the breaks they’ve gotten; yet when breaking down their respective situations, the lives seem superficially similar. So some might say, for example, “We had our wedding ruined by the pandemic!” while others say, “We got sooooo lucky to still have our wedding, even in the middle of the pandemic!” You can guess in which group we put you and your hubs. 😉 And all too often the “luck” is just planning, forethought, and looking at the bright side.
  • The photo of you barefoot (!) in the snow writes its own story. The snow ingenue ventures forth eagerly, undeterred by the cold in her soles; the delighted boyfriend nails her butt with a snowball; the target gathers her own very first snowball, and warns her guy to put down the camera because he’s getting blasted in three, two, …
  • (okay, three comments) I’m guessing the bridge on the chairs is the successful version of the infamous crash?
  • (fine, four, whatever) Ocean, sky, beach… and you’re doing planks. 😳 I… there’s… (and of course you’re reading this with a look on your face that says, “What? Why’s that odd?”) [okay, I admit it makes an awesome photo about someone who, I dunno, teaches yoga or models or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ]

Anyway, Agnes, wonderful essay!
