You defended Trump DoD-nominee Hegseth as someone who will “clear out the DEI corruption that is destroying our military from within.” I never mentioned Hegseth, but that’s because I wrote the article before the election. Had I ever heard of Hegseth, yes, I would have taken aim at someone who talks about banishing women from combat roles. And really the military entirely, because only manly men should be defending our country, right?

Oh, and while you did not mention LGBTQ+ folks directly, I would guess you would also be happy to see them gone as well? Yeah, of course.

With women comprising over 17% of active duty personnel and over 21% of National Guard and reserves, it will be fun to see Hegseth explain where he’s going to get all these manly men to replace them, what with the services having trouble meeting recruiting quotas right now. Bring back the (men only) draft? Sure, because with recruiters tearing their hair…
