This is why Deb was convinced that the models I picked were perfect for her—she had tried them out at our niece & nephew’s, and they worked like “normal” units. The washer even has an old-fashioned rotary knob, which serves no purpose other than to look just like an older model (the washer equivalent of a push-button phone with a “rotary” dial). Deb did not need (and saw no purpose for) (initially) an app. Same with eight functions instead of three; you don’t want to use “Bedding” or “Water Proof”? Ignore them. (Deb loves “Bedding,” btw. “It works so much better than the old washer at getting all the water out!”)
Our new TV (old one‘s backlight died, which on an LCD TV means RIP) does NOT embody the hybrid model—there are NO controls on the TV itself, not even On/Off. EVERYTHING works off the remote… or the app. I just use the remote, because it’s a freakin’ TV, dammit! And then keep very, very good track of the remote…
