The wife of a friend does crafts, and usually hosts a booth at an annual craft fair or two. It’s a total crap shoot as to what she gets in responses. Some years people just walk by and make snarky remarks. Some years (same show) she wishes she brought more products. After a bad show Bruce will ask her if she wants to do it again next time*, and even if “This is the last year!” they’re back again somehow next time. Bruce says it’s not the quantity for her, it’s the reaction of customers: seeing a face light up, answering questions, interacting with someone who is delighted by what she made. She can’t get that anywhere else.

Don’t know if that encourages or discourages you?

*Bruce is her one-man crew, now that the kids are all grown. His interest is more, shall we say, mercenary. 😉
