… than there was at the start of the summer. I’m not sure how that happened. It is counter-intutive. I have been drinking more than my fair share of beer, white wine, and melted ice cream, as my glucometer can attest (it currently reads ‘riot’), but the “stash” in the refrigerator just keeps getting bigger.
The secret is to balance booze and carbs and medication (alcohol drops blood sugar by itself; mixed with meds like glipizide, blood sugar can plummet), so have some ice cream, test, then wine to bring the numbers down, test, a little more ice cream or wine to balance… oh, and the effects can take hours to peak (as one who has been awakened at oh-dark-thirty with cold sweats and shaky limbs) so be careful out there.
