The procedure itself is no big deal, IMHO. (Deb said it made for a peaceful, relaxing day when she got hers. Other than having to not freak out when the anesthesiologist stuck a knitting needle in the back of my hand, mine was a non-event.) The prep, OTOH, was pure hell, especially for a diabetic who had to balance the instructions (obviously written by someone with normal insulin levels) with not getting too fuzzy-brained from low sugar or overloaded with high blood sugar.
