Tampon Tim? That’s Bad, Because…?
What is it with the right-wing and anything resembling caring about people?
ME: You’ve heard that the right-wing social media is trying to pin the label “Tampon Tim” on Tim Walz?
DEB: I think so. Something he did as governor?
ME: He signed a law—introduced with bipartisan support, by the way—that requires Minnesota schools to stock menstrual products in all restrooms. Apparently conservatives, even women, are appalled and horrified that male children might be exposed to these terrible, disgusting things.
DEB: Because…?
ME: No idea. The concept of providing period supplies for free to people who might need them sent them into a tizzy. Even though the cost was estimated at $2 per student per year.
I get irked by stuff like this:
ME: First off, knowing about what girls have to go through, even a little bit, is only going to be good for boys. It will make them a tad more empathic to classmates, girlfriends, and eventual…
