A star is
more than
mass & energy…
its gravity
bends space
bends time
bends the reality
that we know
that we sense
that we believe
so that orbits
(¡predictable!)
defy reason
defy sensibility
defy believability
to give us
the us that is you
(¡my star!)
and me
orbiting
orbiting you
bound to you
never breaking free
nor wanting to

For my wife, Debra, who is my star and my light and my gravitational anchor in the immensity of life. (Seriously, Debster, I had no idea when I started these that they’d be about you. The first three, anyway.)
