So you screwed up. From horrible selfish motives? No. From being a bit (just a little bit) enthusiastic? Looks like it from here. Are you blaming somebody else? No. Are you working your ass off to fix it? Sure seem to be.

As I like to say (usually as ears are still ringing after the smoke alarm has stopped, or we’re pretty sure that all the network servers are back on line, or the doctor has left the waiting area): “What have we learned from this?” (You can treat it as a rhetorical question — my family and coworkers usually do.)
