Since the leaves dropped, our squirrels have been running around incessantly in the neighborhood either (a) frantically burying nuts or (2) frantically looking for nuts to dig up, so they can frantically bury them. After a mostly-warm fall, we finally got a cold holiday period where the ground froze solid, so digging became impossible. Impossible. HEY SQUIRRELS! DIGGING IS IMPOSS— y’know, I don’t think any of them are paying me any attention. Hrmph!
The corn block I put out at the start of fall finally got finished off during the worst of the cold snap. Yah! And then we had a thaw, and since then it’s replacement has (I counted) three (3) nibbles. 😡
Hard freeze last night, snow storm warning starting tomorrow—they’ll be back at the corn, just wait! 😁
