<sigh> It’s bad enough in written pieces, Roz, but it drives me nuts in YouTube videos. “Just show me the freakin’ cake, doofus!” I yell at the screen (“Stop watching recipe videos if they make you upset, Jackster!” my wife tells me as she walks in) before fast forwarding AGAIN to get to the good parts. Same principle as wordy Medium pieces (or tedious online recipe sites), more income, it’s just that YouTube and other sites use ads.
Fortunately it’s usually easy to figure out writers who blither, and then jump to the next piece. Not always, alas. <sigh>
