Our ground wasps seem to go in cycles, Mark(or we just miss finding them for a year or two). I much prefer the mud wasps (very untidy, but not inclined to make a fuss) or the ones who build paper nests in odd places (easy to kill). Ground wasps are hardy, easily spooked, and I practically have to nuke the nest to clear them out. Best: bumble bees. “Hi, are you a flower? No? Cool, moving on.” Even when I sat on one, it just buzzed a little and vacated the area.
