Our church had publicized Seniors Day a few weeks back, and asked members to send cards to older members, or older family, or older anybody. Deb (who is a card/note writer of great enthusiasm) found no Senior Day cards on sale. ☹️ But! She had a tall stack of postcards, some going back to the 1980s, that her late parents had collected over the years and Deb couldn’t bear to throw away. So she invested in postcard stamps, put the addresses on peel & stick labels run through the printer, and spent a fair amount of time writing individual notes on each (sometimes there was some correlation with the picture on the card, other times ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not so much).
She’s been getting personal thank yous in church, emails, and even phone calls, from delighted people.
As have I.
ME: Did you sign both our names, Debster?
DEB: Of course! We’re Deb&Jack! Why wouldn’t I?
ME: Ummm…
I just smile and say “You’re welcome!”
