Our (admittedly somewhat limited) experience is that initial cleanings are much higher than “routine” cleanings. Apparently home owners routinely fib about how dirty their house is really, so the first cleaning is an ordeal. I used to get a service to clean the house every year or three to give Deb a break before the holidays, and we pay much less now with cleanings every other week. (I don’t clean right, btw, so offering to help was rebuffed.)
