OUCH! That happened to my late father-in-law during one of his medical stays. And he was on blood thinners, which made it even worse. It hurt just looking at Dad's arm! (Yes, I'm a wimp — my wife is aware of this.)

I don't recall the term "infiltration" being used, though. Might have just gone over my head at the time.
