Oh. Apparently I’ve been doing girl math the last couple years? 😐
In 2020 (fine, last THREE years — happy now?) my sister informed me that our late father, who hated me until he died because my wife and I stole his car (he had dementia), had not actually written me out of his will as he repeatedly threatened, and so I had tens of thousands of dollars (half tied up in IRAs) coming to me.
Since then I have used “No worries, it’s my father’s money!” to justify purchases such as fun home improvements, gifts to family and close friends, donations to various groups, and earlier this year a cruise to Iceland and back. Lately Deb has gotten suspicious that the bag of money from my parents’ estate is not, in actual fact, bottomless, and has laid down the law that we will stop going off budget for “frivolous” things!
Okay, maybe ONE MORE treat for the family… 😁
