No, we (the IT folks) don’t do that. It’s bad enough trying to decipher upper management’s cryptic demands without actually collecting input from the users, especially when half the comments are, “I WANNA GO BACK TO HOW WE DID IT BEFORE!!!!” [Okay, somewhat sarcastic; I’ve been on projects where we’ve gotten good feedback through user testing prior to rollout. OTOH, we got 84% user approval and *still* had someone complain that no one had asked HIM if he wanted the new software.]
