My wife will not spend money on herself, beyond necessities, so I have to do it for her. Money on others, that she can do. So she’ll buy brunch for the family at $200 (her sister, niece & nephew, plus spouses & child, plus us of course) but she’ll balk at spending a tenth of that on a movie she loves and will watch multiple times (Beauty & the Beast, 2017 version). So she’s happy when we watch the movie together and she’s happy when our grand-niece gives her a big sloppy hug & kiss. And that’s worth having $220 less in the bank account.
