My reaction is, “OMG, this is totally appalling, Toni!”

I still remember getting a call from my boss when they got into deep yogurt with a customer. I was the one who had negotiated the airline repair part maintenance agreement. The customer liked me, and my boss demanded that I return early from vacation since my vacation was “almost over” so I could deal with the problem. I returned early from vacation, leaving my husband and kids at the Grand Canyon. I was not compensated except for the emergency plane ticket home.
