My late mother had Crohn's and something else (not sure her doctor ever figured it out, it seemed to be "that thing that causes GI distress but doesn't respond to the steps that help with Crohn's") and had to go through "sorry, honey, Grandma can't eat that" when our niece & nephew would visit her. ☹️ And then later, with her dementia, she would forget what she shouldn't eat... 😥
