My first gift for Deb was a scarf (with complimentary earrings and thingie that hold the scarf in place). It was a "hmm, this relationship might be going somewhere, a little early to tell, worst case maybe my mother will like it" kind of purchase. I think I gave it to her after our second date a couple/three weeks later.

So... scarfs are out, now? ☹️
