Mary, I am one of those who practices Better Living WIth Technology. (Well, I try, anyway.) For driving, I use our car's adaptive cruise control to maintain speed on the highways and avoid the feeling of "Why is that car zooming past me when I'm going— oh, crap!" I also use lane assistance, which means the steering wheel will turn itself if the car thinks I'm not following the curve well enough. (Note this does NOT mean I can turn steering over to our robot overlord — if she doesn't think I'm actively steering well enough, our car will snap MAINTAIN CONTROL OF STEERING in big orange letters on the dashboard. Yes, ma'am!)
My wife hates the automated assists, btw, but normally I'm the driver in the newer car, so she tolerates it. OTOH, she LOVES our GPS and the maps that display with our locations (and ETA and next turn directions and slow spots and stop sign locations and...) from our phones through the center console.
