Many years ago, I was half-listening to NPR in the car when the woman being interviewed responded to a question about why a proposed anti-abortion law made an exception for rape & incest. Since this had always seemed like a contraditiion to me (if a fetus is a "person" then aren't they still persons regardles of the reason for conception?) I perked up my ears. "Well, first off," she said, "in those cases it's not the woman's fault..." I don't remember what the second thing was since I was trying not to let my anger impact my driving (or trees, other cars, etc.).

Nowadays it seems that the rape/incest exception is disappearing because anti-abortion fanatics view it as a "loophole" that any woman can claim to get an abortion. 😳
