I’m with Tony Lawrence that a major feature is being able to share stories that are not mine with friends who are not on Medium.
OTOH my current earning levels are enough to pay for my basic membership. Will I make $150/year with the new membership? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OTOOH I was not on the partners program at all for my first six years on Medium, and I survived.
