I’m sure you’ve thought of this already, Gillian, but… what happens when the undivided center of attention in the household suddenly has to compete with a noisy, smelly, attention-stealing infant?

Asking because when I was an infant [I’m told] my parents’ dog was severely jealous of me. And when I started crawling (or at least getting down on her level), she realized, Hey, I can take this kid out and my problems will be solved… and shortly after, I became the ONLY attention-getter in the house.
