I'm seeing more articles about menopause and perimenopause (about 20 years too late! Deb is 68) and I'm flabbergasted by the amount of willful ignorance the medical community has about a condition that impacts half the human race directly and a significant portion less directly. (This is where you can pat me on the head and go, "Aww, such a naive fellow, sooo cute!")
The whole HRT question seems to have been dismissed in the late 20th Century as "Wow! Really complicated! Could maybe cause blood clots or cancer or something, maybe. Why don't we just tell our patients NO! and let them think it just sucks to be them but It's All Natural Honey And Everybody Goes Through It." <snarl> Or it could make a woman feel like she's 30 again. YMMV. Seriously, we've figured out how to deal with satins but not HRT? WTF???
[Not yelling at you, dear lady, just irked about how my aging female friends are getting hosed over — AGAIN! — by the American medical establishment.]
