I'm not sure they're crocus at all, Zay, strictly speaking. The flowers look a lot like crocus, but the leaves aren't even close. The bulbs are huge, more like hyacinths — truth to tell, about half the autumn crocus I replanted were bulbs that I thought were hyacinths. (What did I learn from this? Replant right after the spring blossoms wither!) The friend who gave them to us called them "fall crocus," so that's what we've always called them; it wasn't until I Googled that name that I found "naked ladies" as an alternative.
