I was five. I have vague memories of odd things being on TV over and over (my father said decades later that I was upset that my regular programs were not on) but few if any specific mental pictures come to mind.
OTOH I was with my family on July 20, 1969, in the afternoon, on our boat at the harbor, when the radio announced that Apollo 11 had landed on the moon. Every boat in the harbor with a horn blared for a minute or so. That night, we watched the moon walk on TV. It was late, and I fell asleep before it was over.
