I was 41 when I married Deb; she was 45. She was on the Pill, but it was as much for period help as birth control.
So we should not have been allowed to be married, because we could never have kids? There was something posted online many years ago, with 10 reasons why same-sex marriage should not be allowed; half the reasons (like can't have kids) applied to us. And that, oddly enough, was when I went from "Same sex marriage, sure, whatever" to an advocate — the bastards coming after same sex marriage are coming after me and my wife.
A few years later I got even more on board when my ex-wife and her girlfriend could not get basic benefits because they weren't married — they fixed that four years ago, though. And I didn't even push! [OK, Deb wouldn't let me. Even though I thought it was a perfectly fine thing for an ex to do. 😉]
