I want to know, Roz. Both parents had dementia (although only my mother had an Alzheimer’s diagnosis); I have a traumatic brain injury from a plane crash in my 20s that got me medically disqualified from submarine service because I could no longer think fast under pressure; and I have noticed cognitive decline over the last five years. Can I fix my dementia if I know for sure? Probably not. Can I take action to make sure that Deb is taken care of as best I can while I still can? You betcha. Can I do things that prolong my mental capacity? Already doing those.
