I used to be fine driving “solo” with my phone GPS, Mary, although I appreciated Deb acting as a second set of eyes. I could even put in my ear buds and follow voice directions while Deb gabbed with passengers. Now? I need GPS *and* a human navigator in unfamiliar terrain, and I can’t listen to the radio and drive and talk to people (so the radio stays off when I have passengers). Sometimes I can drive and multitask, sometimes not so much, and I don’t know which mode I am in until Deb is suddenly giving me extra instructions, or asking if I want to switch drivers.
