I tried to sign up for a dementia study last year, Jan, (both my parents died with or from Alzheimer’s) but I flunked the pre-screen — probably because of my TBI from a plane crash in my 20s (and I don’t blame them, my data would skew things).
I went through a phase, when I first knew for sure that I was experiencing increased cognitive decline, where I felt the need to share with people that I was headed for dementia. I stopped doing that. I make people uncomfortable (because they can’t do anything) and it annoys some folks, most especially my wife.
I hope your near future involves more once-in-a-lifetime trips, Jan! Take lots of photos—they’re the signposts that take us back to our memories. 💚
