I think you joined Medium just as a flat-out copy&paste threat kerfuffle was dying out, Roz. Bots were stealing entire Medium posts, changing the titles (or using the subtitles as titles) and posting them on clickbait sites. I even had one of my “Conversation with My Wife” pieces stolen (right down to the photo I took). That’s when I and a number of other writers started adding © notices to stories and photos.
